So Where is Cedar Key?

Located about 3 hours west of Jacksonville and 3 hours north of Tampa, Cedar Key is found on the Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles southwest of Gainesville, Florida. The drive from Gainesville is about an hour. If you need groceries or other consumables, you may want to stop in Gainesville to stock up before you head out to the island. If you're already stocked up with staples - Cedar Key has a small grocery store, vegetable stand, seafood markets, and convenience stores.

Directions

· Coming from Gainesville, Florida: Exit I-75 at Exit #384 and head west to Cedar Key. This is State Route #24.

· Take State Route #24 southwest for approximately 50 miles.

· You'll come to a series of bridges to get out to the island - open your windows and inhale, you're almost there!

· Continue until you encounter a stop sign in the village of Cedar Key.

· At the stop sign, (Second Street) turn left and follow Second Street to the very end past the Cedar Key Beach and playground.

· Second Street dead-ends into two driveways, take the left fork into Old Fenimore Mill Condominiums. You've arrived! The rental office (for picking up keys) is the first building on your right.
